Terms and data agreement

Last updated 11 September 2026. This page is the agreement between askadash and the people and companies that use it - whether it is your own dashboard for you alone, or a site your team runs on. Same rules either way. Plain English, and if any of it is not clear, tell us and we will make it clearer.

1. Who we are

askadash is run by Michael Bosworth, trading through OMGWTF.ltd. You can reach us any time at support@askadash.com and a real person will answer. On this page we means askadash and you means whoever is using it - a person with their own login, or a company that has given logins to its team.

2. What askadash is

askadash builds dashboards from your own numbers. You describe what you want to see; a person on our side - a Guru - reads it; the site builds it; a Guru checks it before it goes live. Then you use the pages that were built - to look at your figures, to enter new ones, and to ask for more when you need them.

A dashboard can be for one person keeping an eye on their own things, or for a company where a team looks at the numbers together. Same site, same tools, same terms.

3. Who is agreeing to this

If you signed up for a personal account, you are agreeing to it for yourself.

If you set up a company account, or you hold an admin login for one, you are agreeing to it on that company's behalf and confirming you are entitled to do so. Everyone the company gives a login to accepts these terms for themselves when they sign in.

4. Your data, and how it is held

Worth explaining, because it is a bit different from how most sites do this. Everything you put on askadash is yours; in the language of the rules on this, you decide what happens to it and we hold it for you.

How it works, from an upload to a chart:

• You upload a spreadsheet or type figures on an entry page.
• The site reads the numbers and writes a small tidy summary of them, as a plain text file.
• The dashboard reads that summary. What you see on the screen is what we hold - there is nothing bigger sitting behind it.
• The AI, when it answers a question about your dashboard, reads the same summary. It does not have any secret store of its own.

There is no database. No hidden archive. Just your original files and the small summaries the pages read. To give you a feel for it - for one of our current customers, two and a half years of daily figures come to 336 KB. Their whole account is 34 MB, and most of that is the operating procedures they uploaded, not figures.

Where it lives: on a server we run in the UK, in a folder that belongs to you and nobody else. Only the site itself and our Gurus can reach it, and the site is only ever reached over an encrypted connection. We do not sell it, share it, hand it to advertisers or use it for anything other than running your site.

Who else on your site can see it: whoever you have given a login to, at the settings you chose for them. Nobody outside your account. Ever.

Getting it back: because there is not much of it, you can have every byte we hold - as a spreadsheet you can open in Excel - within the day, by asking a Guru. Ask us to delete it and we will, within thirty days.

Backups: every night we take a copy of everything, and keep it for fourteen days. That is only for us to be able to walk back a mistake or a broken build; it is not a second place your data lives. It sits on the same server, encrypted, and expires on the fourteenth day.

5. What to upload - please think first

Everything on askadash is only as safe as the choice to put it there. Two things to keep in mind, and then we can move on:

• If it is yours - your figures, your notes, files you own - do what you like with the site. That is what it is for.
• If it belongs to someone else - your employer, a customer, a network you are a member of - please make sure they are happy with it being here first. That includes files you have access to at work: a personal login on askadash is not a way round your employer's own rules about their information.

If something ends up on askadash that shouldn't have, just tell us at support@askadash.com and we will take it out and confirm it is gone. No fuss. You are responsible for what is uploaded through your logins, whoever pressed the button, which is why it helps to think first - not to catch anyone out afterwards.

6. Data protection and the law

If what you give us is about identifiable people, we handle it for you under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. You decide what happens to it; we act on your instructions and no one else's. If anyone whose data is on your site asks about it, we will help you answer them; if we ever became aware of a breach affecting it, we would tell you without delay; and we do not send it outside the UK without telling you first.

askadash's registration with the Information Commissioner's Office is in hand - application number C2029828 - and the registration number will appear here as soon as it is issued. If you would like a formal data processing agreement to sign, just ask at support@askadash.com and we will send you one.

7. AI on the site

A few things on askadash are written by an AI: answers about your dashboard or your documents, draft replies to emails, the first pass of a build. Where an outside AI service is used for that, only the text needed for that one answer is sent - not your whole file, not your other data - and the services we use do not use what is sent to train their models. Nothing ever goes to a shared or public chat product.

If you would rather nothing at all left our server, one setting turns that off screen by screen and the answers are produced on askadash's own machines instead. Ask a Guru and we will set it for you.

8. Build requests

A build request is one thing you would like added or changed on your dashboard - a new chart, a new page, a tweak. Every plan comes with a number of them a month. Questions, tidy-ups and requests we can't do do not count. Anything big is quoted before it starts, and nothing is built until you have said yes.

Now and again we may say a request isn't one we can build - usually because it needs something we do not have, or is not quite clear enough yet - and we will always say why.

9. Paying

Plans are on the pricing page. Nothing is charged until you have agreed the plan in writing, quotes come before any bigger piece of work, and billing is monthly unless we agree something else. No contract beyond the month you are in.

10. Your login

Keep your password to yourself. Let us know if you think somebody has used it who shouldn't have. If people leave, take their logins off in the Users page - or ask us to. Anything done through a login counts as done by the person or the company that owns it.

11. What we promise, and what we can't

We will keep askadash running and your data safe with reasonable care and skill. Every request is read by a person before anything is built, every build is checked afterwards, and there is a nightly copy of everything so a mistake can be walked back.

We can't promise the site is never down for a moment - occasionally we take it down for maintenance or a build - and we can't promise a dashboard is free of mistakes. The numbers on it come from the numbers you give it; check anything you are about to make a decision on against the source first.

If we get something wrong, our liability to you is capped at what you have paid us in the three months before. We are not liable for indirect loss, lost profit or lost data that could have been recovered from the nightly copy. None of this limits things the law does not allow us to limit.

12. Using the site fairly

Use askadash lawfully and for what it is meant for. Don't try to reach somebody else's data on the site, don't upload things you don't have the right to, and don't use it to store material that has nothing to do with running what you are doing. If somebody breaks these terms we can pause a login or an account, and we will say why.

13. Stopping

Either of us can end this at the end of any month by saying so. When it ends, we hand your data back if you want it, and then delete it within thirty days. Anything already paid for the current month is not refunded; anything not yet due is not charged.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will change the date at the top of this page, and if it is a change that matters we will tell you. Carrying on using the site after a change means accepting it.

15. The law

This agreement is under the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales look after any dispute about it.
